Patience
I am writing today to ask for your patience. Our regular decision and early decision 2 deadlines passed yesterday. As you can imagine, our office is processing a lot of application materials! From test scores to teacher recommendations to essays, every piece comes together to create your application. Our wonderful support staff are working hard to put your files in order and to make sure we have everything we need to read your application. It takes us some time to download every application and to put it up on the GHQ portal. Please wait at least a few days to check the status of your application materials.
My office is near our main workroom with our big printer. For the last two days it has been running non-stop, printing your applications! I thought you might like to see the printer in action:
We still read paper files in our office – so even though you submit your application electronically, it will end up in a folder with your recommendations, transcripts, interview report, etc.
Thank you for your patience! I know how anxious some of you are to make sure that everything came through okay. (I’m the type of person who loves tracking numbers for things I have shipped – I’m sure if I had applied to college in an electronic era, I would have checked the GHQ constantly.) Know that we are working hard to process every application and that it does take some time.
