Just some W&L holiday cheer!

I just emailed my term paper to my Latin American Politics professor, and I am officially done with Fall Term 2011! (This is where we give each other a high-five. BAM!)

This has hands down been the fastest term yet. It feels like just yesterday I was a freshman hearing one of my friends (who was a senior at the time) telling me that W&L only gets better each year. At the time, I couldn’t believe her. Wait, I’m already having an awesome year…you mean there’s even more to look forward to here?!

Two years later, I could not agree more. But unfortunately, with the increasing awesomeness of being a General, it also seems that time speeds up each semester. My friends are already talking about LSAT, GRE, and MCAT prep classes around the dinner table!

Wait a second, weren’t we just taking the SAT?

So for all you ED1 applicants out there about to fly off the edge of your seats in anticipation for your admissions decisions, please, take a deep breath. Time flies faster than you (or I) realize. If you need tips on how to pass the time (and you’ve already finished your exams), here’s an idea. Bake some festive cookies for the teacher(s) who wrote you a recommendation letter. Having an attitude of gratitude couldn’t be more fitting for this time of year.

To all W&L applicants, friends, students, staff, and especially my dear friends in the Gilliam Admissions House, I hope you have a blessed holiday season.
